MUSIC PUBLISHER

ANNIE MERLE MUSIC

l own a music publishing company, Annie Merle Music, named after my mother. Along with creating music published by my company, for many years I administered song licenses for print, video, television, film, and CD rights when my songs were requested for use in such projects. Several years ago, I handed that part of the job over to an outside firm, but I still pitch songs and approve licenses.

Once in a while, I get the chance to produce a recorded project. Sometimes it will be a DVD production, perhaps seasonal, or for an independent client who needs a presentation for a speaking career. Or it may be an audio project, like the recorded version of a musical for performance, or a holiday recording. I have worked with many Christian publishers—Word, Praise Gathering Music Group, Lillenas, Inc., Genevox Music and Hallmark, too. A project I wrote won a Dove Award for Best Youth musical. I have also produced several live concert tours for Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and Amy Grant with Vince Gill. Some of these tours were giant productions that included the Nashville Symphony Orchestra with 100+ participants on the road.

 1976-2002

SINGER

I worked as a professional back-up singer and vocal contractor in the studio and for live events for many years.
